Advance Cargo Declaration (ACD) in Nigeria
Date:2015-12-22 Hits:3145
Dear Valued Customers,
Further to our last advisory, we wish to inform you that the Nigerian Shippers council (NSC) is moving ahead with the implementation of the ACD.
A committee comprising of the Shippers Council, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria and Shipping Lines will be meeting next month to look into and address the concerns being raised by stakeholders.
While we await the outcome of the committee’s deliberation, we strongly advise shippers to ensure that all cargo be accompanied by an Entry Summary Number (ENS) at the point of submitting your shipping instruction to shipping company.
All relevant information on how to register and obtain ENS can be found on the website www.acdnigeria.com
In instances where ENS cannot be obtained, we shall continue to accept bookings until further notice.
However, please note that shipments not covered by a valid ENS might incur fines in the future. At present, no penalties have been set for non-compliance as penalty levels are yet to be specified by the Shippers Council. While we cannot guarantee that there will be no penalties, please note that in instances where fines are incurred as a result of missing ENS, such fines shall be passed on to the shipper.
We encourage you to contact ACD Nigeria directly via email to support@ctn-nigeria.com or call their help desk on +234 816 447 5255 for any technical support. You can also click on the ‘chat with us’ link available on the website to seek assistance with any of their available representatives.
